Tune Out and Turn Up the Peace

I look at peace as a state of mind. Sometimes it truly takes some strength and determination to tune out the outside world and focus on getting some inner peace. From our daily responsibilities, to social media, our cell phones, and all the other distractions, it’s easy to go from day to day not having a moment to just experience some peace and calm.

I’m a big believer in prayer. I love to mediate and read a bible scripture to help center me. Having a connection with God helps to give me that daily peace and calm that I need!

I encourage you to take a moment each day to find at least ten minutes of peace. Ten minutes where you can focus on your thoughts, your sanity, your inner self. Whether to say a prayer, read a few pages in a book, sit on your couch with your eyes closed and doing nothing, whatever works for you. Just find that time to calm and center yourself. You can have daily peace in the midst of a hectic world.

It’s Your Lane!

If we focused more on being like ourselves do you realize how much better we would be as women? Our society is so big on keeping up with the Jonses and getting what the person next to us has, that we lose sight of just focusing on our own selves.

Get a bigger house because your best friend just got one, get bigger boobs because yours don’t look like Kim Kardashians, get married because you’re the last of your friends still single, blah blah and blah.

The more we focus on other people and what they have, the less we are focusing on how blessed we are. God has a plan for each and every one of us. An individual plan not a group plan. This ain’t Verizon. Your path is not going to be the same as the woman next to you and hers is not the same as yours. When you learn to stay in our own lane, you will begin to realize that your journey is made just for you. So buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Me Time Please

We as women have the tendency to take care of everybody else but ourselves. I think that’s just part of our nature. The only problem with that is while we are busy taking care of everyone else, who is taking care of us? We get so caught up in everyday life that everyday we neglect ourselves.

When was the last time you did something for you? Doesn’t have to be anything major like a trip to France or a Caribbean cruise. Just something you did exclusively to put a smile on your face and joy in your heart with no one to interrupt or interfere.

Whether it’s reading a book, watching you favorite t.v. show in peace and quiet, or a long bubble bath, daily take time out to do something for you. Life is too short not to!
