Definition of Success:

The definition of success to me is consistently working towards and achieving your goals.  If you can do that and maintain and wonderful attitude and have gratitude, success is guaranteed.  I would say some of the sacrifices I have made to get to where I am have to do with how I’ve chosen to spend my time,  I’ve missed family and friend holiday times and other important dates because of prioritizing my career and not wanting to miss work related work.

Healthy Self Esteem:

This is a tricky one, I do struggle with self esteem and self worth,  especially as a business owner some days I feel like I can handle anything and anyone and other times I second guess every decision I make.  For me it’s been very important to keep a close group of friends and just people whom’s opinions I value around. I also try to look to remind myself of the bigger picture and look back at what I have accomplished.  I do keep a journal that I use more like a checklist of goals, I don’t write in it everyday, but break down what I am trying to do and how I plan on getting there, once I accomplish something I check it off the list, no matter how small,  it helps me to feel productive and that I am trying. I’ve gotten better as I’ve gotten older at going easy on myself when I don’t achieve a goal or something goes wrong.

Dating Advice:

I don’t usually give much advice in this arena, other than to trust your instincts, usually they are right.  As far as dating in 2019 goes, Ladies, let your friends know where you are going when venturing into the world of online dating, it’s better to be precautious these days unfortunately.

What’s in the future:

I’d like to grow my business Blend Beauty Bar,  to include more indie, local and environmentally conscience cosmetic and beauty brands.  For me being an educated consumer is very important in today’s market. There are so many products out there all claiming to be the best, unfortunately we can’t always trust what we are told. Doing the research and sharing that info through my business to my customers is what I would like to do and be known for.

Definition of Success:

My definition of success is doing what I’m passionate about and being able to live the lifestyle that I want. I have been blessed to achieve success in my career and have the lifestyle that I want. Being an entrepreneur is hard and it’s a lot of work. You need discipline, strength and very tough skin. But success comes with sacrifice and for me that was time with my husband and kids. I missed out on a few important dates in their lives. So, I promised myself that I would always give them the best life I could give each of them every day.

Everyday that I am with them is special, so when I missed those special days it wasn’t so disappointing for them. At the end of the day, it was worth it when my kids shared with me that I was their role model not someone famous on television. They saw that my hard work was for them to live the lifestyle that they had.

Self Esteem:

Self-esteem is something that I was taught by my parents and family. They always gave me positive and encouraging words. I think women should surround themselves around people that know their worth and love how they look. The world is different now, it’s very sensitive and so is the world. You must be confident in yourself and understand that everyone is not going to embrace you. When I was growing up, I didn’t see a lot of women that looked like me on TV, magazines, and in the workplace.

My skin tone wasn’t always liked by others, but I didn’t need their approval to feel great about myself. I was already told by my loved ones and I loved what I saw when I looked in the mirror. So, if I wasn’t someone’s flavor of choice it was ok. I want girls, teens and young adults to understand that we are not always going to be someone’s flavor of choice whether it comes to looks, bodies, hair, and skin tone. And guess what, it’s ok. You need to love yourself first. Looking for love from other people to validate who you are doesn’t work. #justsaying

Dating Advice:

The advice that I would give to single women on LOVE & DATING is to enjoy yourself but respect yourself. Usually, you have already met your soulmate, he’s that friend that you’re overlooking for that bad boy. He’s that guy that is always there for you when your heart is broken. Also, date guys that are not in your community but that guys who have similar taste like you do. I can promise you that he’s not on those Apps…sorry girls.

What’s in the future:

I see for Entitled Beauty, my partner and I creating more colors and products. I see us growing and retailing not just online but in boutiques, salons, and hotels. We will become a household name!

Favorite shade of lipstick:

OMG! This is a hard question. Let’s see, my favorite shade of is lipstick is a bold purple shade called Queen B from my makeup line Entitled Beauty. It’s the color I created for us, Lupus Warriors.

Definition of Success:

My definition of success is doing what you love, on your own terms. In order to get to the place in my career that I am today, I had to maintain a full-time job as a tailor, a part-time job as a bartender, and do photo shoots for free for about 11 months. Not everyone is willing to make that sacrifice, and what I see with a lot of new artists, is that they cannot recognize an opportunity that isn’t a paid opportunity. No one wants to work for free, but it’s necessary, especially in the beginning.

Self Esteem:

I struggled with self-esteem for a very long time, but I forced myself to see the beauty in myself. I was that girl who could not go to the bodega for milk without makeup. I was so insecure for anyone to see me unless I was done up, and it really affected my life. People would tell me that I looked good without it, but I didn’t believe it. I wanted to see the same thing that other people saw when they looked at me, so I eventually had to push myself outside of my comfort zone.

I started to not wear makeup, and I would alternate between long and short hair, and sometimes wear my natural hair. There was a point where I wouldn’t let anyone see my natural hair, either. Now I’m at a place where I don’t wear makeup at all (except for lip gloss) unless I’m going out, or going to be on camera, and everyone knows what my natural hair looks like. It was a long process, but I’m so happy. And I feel prettier now than I did then.

Dating advice:

My advice to any single woman is that you have to realize that dating is hard, and it’s probably going to take time to find the right person for you. You have to be open to dating people that aren’t your “type“, sometimes people pleasantly surprise you. Don’t give up, don’t give too much to those who haven’t earned it, and realize that other people‘s shortcomings have nothing to do with you.

What’s in the Future:

I see myself starting a blog. I have always wanted to create content, and I’m in a place now where I think that I can be consistent enough to do it.

Favorite shade of Lipstick:

My favorite shade of lipstick is rose pink.
