RIP Breonna

Breonna Taylor’s 27th birthday was on Friday. If you haven’t heard of this story, she is just yet another black life that has been taken away by the hands of the police on March 13, 2020. Police brutality in this country is nothing new to us black people. It happens too damn often and has been going on for years! As they say something is as American as Apple Pie. The same can be said for the bruatality and racism.

You see the problem isn’t just police brutality. It’s the racist system that allows it to happen. The system is rotten to it’s core. We as a people have to continue to stand up and fight for us because our lives depend on it. We also can’t be the only ones fighting for us. White people and other minority groups that hate to see injustice need to stand up and make it a mission to continue to do so. Racism is evil! It is hateful! It’s an embarrassment to the human race! The entire structure that created it is inhumane.

This young lady had her whole life ahead of her. How it was taken away is completely heartbreaking. I pray for Breonna’s family. Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, Philando Castile, George Floyd, and to all of the black men, women, and children that have died at the hands of police brutality and racism, may you Rest In Peace!

“I believe in human beings, and that all human beings should be respected as such, regardless of their color.” Malcolm X
